Depth Chart Update: Two Weeks Until Gameday

Looking at the two-deep with two weeks to go.

Quarterback

  1. Austin Allen, SR
  2. Ty Storey, SO OR Cole Kelley, R-FR

No surprises here. It sounds like neither Storey or Kelley has established themselves as the clear backup thus far.

Running Back

  1. Devwah Whaley, SO
  2. David Williams, SR OR Chase Hayden, FR
  3. Maleek Williams, FR

Chase Hayden is really impressing the coaching staff so far. He keeps this up and there could be some competition with David Williams to back up Whaley. David Williams could be the short yardage guy while Hayden’s speed can be utilized in other ways.

Fullback

  1. Kendrick Jackson, JR
  2. Hayden Johnson, SO

Wide Recevier

  1. Deon Stewart, SO AND La’Michael Pettway, SO
  2. Jordan Jones, R-FR OR Brandon Martin, SO

Slot WR

  1. Jared Cornelius, SR
  2. Jonathan Nance, JR OR Kolian Jackson, FR

Last season Arkansas had seven wide receivers catch a pass, so these seven are the ones that should get some significant playing time. After these seven there is a bit of a drop off.

Left Tackle

  1. Colton Jackson, SO
  2. Paul Ramirez, SR

Left Guard

  1. Hjalte Froholdt, JR
  2. Jake Raulerson, SR

Center

  1. Frank Ragnow, SR
  2. Zach Rogers, SR

Right Guard

  1. Johnny Gibson, JR
  2. Jalen Merrick, SO

Right Tackle

  1. Brian Wallace, JR
  2. Shane Clenin, FR OR Dalton Wagner, FR

The offensive line is pretty set, and mostly made up of players who have gone through a year with the Hogs. Clenin and Wagner are the two freshman most likely to get in the two-deep based on what we’ve heard from coaches.

Tight End

  1. Austin Cantrell, SO
  2. Cheyene O’Grady, SO OR Jeremy Patton, JR

Behind Cantrell is an interesting battle. O’Grady and Patton are the two most likely to get playing time but Will Gragg could also find his way on the field.

Defensive End 1

  1. McTelvin Agim, SO
  2. Armon Watts, JR

Defensive End 2

  1. T.J. Smith, SO
  2. Briston Guidry, R-FR

Nose Tackle

  1. Bijhon Jackson, SR
  2. Austin Capps, SO

The three starters look great on paper. Agim has been a monster in practice by all accounts, Smith has been consistent, and Bijhon still has a great ass. After those three the depth is a concern. Capps, Guidry, and Watts have a combined 13 tackles.

Hog Linebacker

  1. Karl Roesler, SR
  2. Gabe Richardson, SO

Jamario Bell’s injury has made things difficult here. Richardson could get time, but Randy Ramsey has also slotted in at the Hog position in some practices.

Middle Linebacker 1

  1. Dre Greenlaw, JR
  2. Josh Harris, JR

Middle Linebacker 2

  1. De’Jon Harris, SO
  2. Grant Morgan, R-FR OR Dee Walker, R-FR

Much like the defensive line, the starters look great, but behind them is some unexperienced players.

Razor Linebacker

  1. Randy Ramsey, JR
  2. Dwayne Eugene, SR

Cornerback 1

  1. Ryan Pulley, JR
  2. Kamren Curl, FR OR Chevin Calloway, FR

Cornerback 2

  1. Henre’ Toliver, SR
  2. Britto Tutt, SO

Pulley and Toliver have the starting positions locked up. Kevin Richardson II is listed as the Nickel starter as well.

Strong Safety

  1. Josh Liddell, SR
  2. De’Andre Coley, SR

Free Safety

  1. Santos Ramirez, JR
  2. Reid Miller, JR

Montaric Brown will probably end the season somewhere on the two-deep at safety, but until he actually suits up in a practice the fourth spot is Miller’s.

Nickel

  1. Kevin Richardson II, SR
  2. Josh Liddell, SR

Kicker

  1. Cole Hedlund, JR
  2. Blake Mazza, FR

Punter

  1. Blake Johnson, SO
