Arkansas Recruiting News: Kamren Curl Commits to the Razorbacks

Safety 6’2” 180 lbs. Muskogee, Oklahoma

Arkansas is looking to finish up the 2017 recruiting class with some top defensive players, and the Hogs landed a good one in safety Kamren Curl from Muskogee, Oklahoma.

Curl is a highly-recruited 3-star prospect. He held offers from Oklahoma, Texas, TCU, Ole Miss, Nebraska, Texas Tech, Houston, Baylor, and several others, but he chose to come up the hill to Fayetteville, literally. He’ll be in town tomorrow to begin his official visit.

Defensive back is a priority for Arkansas this year after going relatively light at the position the last couple of years. As of now, Curl is the fifth player listed as either a cornerback or safety on the commit list, but he’s not likely to be the last.

Arkansas will be hosting 4-star cornerback Chevin Calloway and safety Brad Stewart on official visits this weekend, along with Curl and current commits Jordon Curtis, Jarques McClellion, and Montaric Brown. It could end up being a huge weekend for Arkansas’ secondary in the coming seasons.

This is the 22nd commitment in Arkansas’ 2017 recruiting class. We’re under two weeks to Signing Day, which is February 1st this year.
