Bret Bielema said that he has never had all 32 NFL teams present at one of his team's pro days, so needless to say it was a big day for guys like Alex Collins, Hunter Henry, Jonathan Williams and Brandon Allen. All four of them seemed pretty satisfied with their performance. Most importantly it was a big day for Jonathan Williams since NFL teams haven't seen him on the field in over a year. Outside of Henry, there is a lot of uncertainty of where some players could go, so yesterday's performance could go a long way for some of them.
Here are a few tweets from various media about some individual performances. The biggest improvement came from Henry, who had a disappointing showing on the bench press at the combine. He jumped from 13 to 21 reps at the pro day. There are plenty of other vines and quick videos here to get your combine fix.
In their final tuneup before conference play starts, the Razorback baseball team got a closer than expected win over Grambling State. The winning run came thanks to the quick baserunning from Darien Simms. Coming in to pinch run, Simms got a steal and advanced to third on a poor throw. He then scored on a wild pitch, giving the Hogs the winning run without recording a hit. Dave Van Horn was very complimentary of Simms after the game, saying he could be a big weapon for the Hogs in the future.
Sandi Morris was part of a National Champion indoor team at Arkansas, now the former Hog is making waves on the professional circuit. Morris cleared 16 feet on the pole vault this past weekend and qualified for the World Indoor Championships later this year. She has made huge strides since graduating from the university and you can catch up on that from this piece by Bob Holt.
