Arkansas Recruiting News: 4-Star JUCO Brandon Martin Commits to the Razorbacks

Wide Receiver 6’4” 210 lbs. Gulf Coast Community College

The Razorbacks made a bit of a splash on juco signing day with the commitment of the nation’s #1 juco receiver, Brandon Martin.

Martin is originally from Monroe, Louisiana, and initially signed at LSU after originally committing to Missouri, but failed to qualify after spending his senior season at the infamous Prime Prep in Dallas. Martin then chose to go to now-famous Gulf Coast Community College, where he emerged as a highly-sought receiver this year. He chose the Hogs over offers from LSU, Florida, Georgia, Auburn, and Mississippi State. He actually committed to Auburn in the summer, but decommitted in time to take several visits this fall.

Our friends at And The Valley Shook described Martin as “exceptionally talented” when he signed at LSU two years ago.

With his teammate, fellow Arkansas signee Jonathan Nance, the juco wide receivers will help restore balance to Arkansas’ depth chart at receiver. However, Martin, unlike Nance, will actually have three years to play three seasons at Arkansas. There won’t be any redshirting for him. Look for him to be on the field next fall for Arkansas.

He is the 20th commitment in the 2017 signing class for Arkansas, and is expected to sign his LOI on Thursday.
