Arkansas Razorbacks Are Getting Votes In Top 25 Polls

Despite playing what many fans are considering meh games over the last couple of weekends, the Hogs are impressing some people enough to get a few votes in the Top 25 polls.

Here's the link to the full AP poll, and here's the full Coaches' Poll.

The Coaches' Poll is more favorable to Arkansas. The Razorbacks' 34 votes are good for 5th team in the "others receiving votes' category, or another way of spinning it, the #30 ranked team in the country.  The Hogs have the most votes of any SEC team not actually in the top 25 (and there are seven in it, making the Hogs 8th), and ahead of future opponents Rutgers (2 votes) and Auburn (15 votes).

The AP Poll isn't quite as kind, with the Hogs only picking up 2 votes, placing them 37th. Auburn has 15 votes and Rutgers has zero.

Now seems like a good time to mention that the AP poll is not a factor in the BCS standings, and therefore is basically worthless.  The Coaches' Poll is a factor, and much more significant, even if coaches don't have time to sit around all day watching other teams and vote and therefore who knows who's actually voting and with how much knowledge of the teams.

If Arkansas wins at Rutgers on Saturday, it will be interesting to see how much weight voters give that in next week's polls.
