Josh Frazier Commits To Alabama Over Arkansas and Texas A&M

It's just been a peach of a day.

USA TODAY Sports

Any other day, and this announcement may have generated a bit of suspense, but when you've just lost to Mississippi State at home for the first time in program history and are staring an 0-8 SEC season in the face, unless you're the type of person who's born a Razorback, it's not hard to understand why someone might be interested in going somewhere else today.

He said a while back that he wanted to see how the Hogs and Bielema did this year, and, well, you know.

Frazier, just as he did earlier this year in listing his top five choices, narrowed his list hour by hour until he finally announced his decision at 7 pm central:

I hope u will still support me when I go rep Arkansas in Alabama.</p>&mdash; L.Joshua Frazier (@JoshuaFrazier99) <a href="https://twitter.com/JoshuaFrazier99/statuses/404414874962239489">November 24, 2013</a></blockquote>

<blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p>Love the coaching staff and everything at Texas A&amp;M but I&#39;m set on Arky and Bama. So it is down to those Two.</p>&mdash; L.Joshua Frazier (@JoshuaFrazier99) <a href="https://twitter.com/JoshuaFrazier99/statuses/404399255990722560">November 24, 2013</a></blockquote>

Frazier is a consensus 4* defensive tackle from Springdale Har-Ber. He and fellow defensive tackle Bijhon Jackson are considered the top two players in Arkansas in the class of 2014. Jackson committed to Arkansas shortly after Bret Bielema was hired last year.

Frazier joins Altee Tenpenny as highly-touted in-state prospects to go to Alabama over Arkansas in the last couple of years.

We normally don't report on players who did not select Arkansas, but considering how high-profile of a recruit Frazier is and is an in-state prospect, it's certainly newsworthy.
