Fresh off of a breakout junior season, Razorback big man Moses Kingsley is doing all he can to improve on his draft stock. He’s well on his way to accomplishing that by accepting an invitation to the Nike Basketball Academy Wednesday morning.
The Academy is a prestigious five-day event running from July 24-28 in Los Angeles. Kingsley will be competing against 20 of the best players college hoops has to offer. It is an invite-only camp, and that alone is impressive.
The really cool part about this experience for Kingsley will be accepting guidance and advice from many of the NBA’s top talents, including LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis and Uncle Drew.
You would expect the 6-10 forward to come away from this with tidbits of information not only for himself but also in a team structure as well. Kingsley had a very solid season in 2015-16, earning second team All-SEC and All-SEC Defense honors after averaging nearly 16 points, nine rebounds and just over two blocks per game.
He scored in double figures in all but two games a season ago, and was one of just three players in the nation with multiple 20-point, 10-rebound, 5-block games, which is admirable.
With the new junior college guards coming in, it appears Arkansas’ backcourt will be in good shape. But having a far-improved Kingsley Mike Anderson can count on could push the Razorbacks to a level fans haven’t seen in a while.
