There Is Plenty Of Leadership For The Hogs In 2021

NCAA Football: SEC Media Days Vasha Hunt-USA TODAY Sports

On some of the better teams in Razorback football history most had their share of senior leadership or young men from the state of Arkansas ready to fight one last time. This fall Arkansas has plenty of both on each side of the football.

One of the biggest team leaders on this football team is arguably Grant Morgan. He was snubbed of a few pieces of hardware in the offseason. The former walk-on turned all-American had a season for the ages in 2020 when he recorded 110 tackles, 7.5 tackles for a loss and two sacks. The senior linebacker is the true heart and soul of this team. Morgan displays the true blue collar work ethic of each and every Arkansan in the state and returns to the Hogs with hopes to lead Arkansas to more.

His linebacker comrade Bumper Pool had plenty nice things to say about him on Friday.

“(Grant) is the ultimate competitor. He wants to win whether it is in the weight room or an argument,” said Pool. “He will outwork people. His leadership sill be huge for our team going into this season.

Arkansas has 19 starters retuning and 23 seniors. Leadership will be key for this team if they want to win more games this fall. Pool says the younger players can learn with such leadership. It makes the football complex such a better atmosphere. At practice, in the weight room becoming stronger is key. Learning to win and bounce back after losses is beneficial.”

Arkansas will open their season on September 4, 2021 against Rice. Kickoff will be at 1 PM and be broadcast on ESPN+.
