16 Days! Razorback Football Is Coming Fast

The Razorbacks have a fantastic wide receiver and one who can win quite a few awards if he has an outstanding season in 2021.

Our countdown to Razorback Gameday versus Rice is now down to 16 days and today we feature Treylon Burks “16”. He had an exceptional 2020 “Covid” season where he played in nine of the ten games last season. Burks recorded 51 receptions for 820 yards and 7 touchdowns. He doubled his production from his freshman year so an improvement on 2020 to his junior year wouldn’t come as a surprise.

There was an obvious change to scheduling last year and a cancelled bowl game versus TCU. If Burks had a full regular schedule to work with he could have put up very good numbers last year. With a full amount of regular season games and the Texas Bowl, Burks would have recorded 75 receptions for 1184 yards and 10 touchdowns. Both the amount of receptions and yards would have ranked second in a single season and the ten touchdowns would’ve ranked third.

With Burks being the main target for KJ Jefferson this fall what are the expectations for him? There will be a need for other guys to step up in order to take opponents focus off of him. De’Vion Warren, Jaquaylyn Crawford and Trey Knox should be a group of guys that do just that. The trio of freshmen, too, could also find playing time.

Burks is the unquestioned leader of the offense and where he goes the offense will follow. He will start off with a huge day against Rice before a primetime ESPN game against Texas will feature him. Let’s go! Only 16 days left. We’ve almost made it!
