BREAKING: Tyrus Washington Commits to Arkansas

With the commitment train rolling ahead of the 2021 football season, Arkansas has landed another one of their targets in tight end Tyrus Washington, who announced via Twitter on July 7 that he had committed to the Hogs.

Washington, a composite three-star recruit out of Leesburg, Georgia, chose the Hogs over Central Florida, Cincinnati, and others. He is ranked the #61 player in the state of Georgia, per 247Sports.

When recruiting visits officially opened on June 1 of this year, Arkansas was one of the first places he visited, arriving on the Hill on June 4th. Washington also took official visits to Central Florida, Cincinnati, and Kansas State.

As a junior, Washington helped Lee County High School to a 12-2 record, hauling in 17 receptions for 258 yards, reaching the endzone 11 times.

Washington joins a tight end room that is in need of extra bodies. Blake Kern will be leaving the Hogs after the 2021 season, and with Hudson Henry battling injuries, there is plenty of room for Washington to make his mark on the Razorbacks program.
