This offseason, Sam Pittman made immediate chances to his coaching staff. The immediate coaching carousel began after the 2020 season. Jon Cooper was the tight ends coach but left after one season on the job.
A few days later, Pittman hired a “lesser known” Cody Kennedy as Cooper’s replacement. Kennedy served under Pittman as a graduate assistant during their time at Georgia together.
Kennedy was hired away from Southern Miss after a prior stop at Tulane.
From a source close to the program it is expected that Kennedy will take the position as offensive line coach. Pittman will now be looking to hire a tight ends coach.
