Storylines
•Arkansas has a chance to become bowl eligible for the first time since the 2016 season. The Razorbacks were selected to play in the Belk Bowl in Charlotte where they played Virginia Tech.
•The Hogs hold a 17-13 edge in 30 meetings with the Bulldogs. Their largest victory was a 52-6 victory in 2003. Arkansas won nine games in a row against Mississippi State from 1999-2007, the longest streak by either school.
•Most games played between these two neighboring states are usually close, physical, low scoring matchups but this season could be very different. The two offenses can create huge plays in the passing game so it could be a shootout in Razorback Stadium.
•Running back, Dominique Johnson will get his first career start as a Razorback on Saturday. He has been the most productive of the four headed monster at his position through the first eight games. Johnson is also the best blocking back and that could be attributed to his time he spent at tight end during fall camp.
•Mississippi State’s pass defense is one of the weakest in the SEC. With Johnson starting this week that could be Arkansas’ way of saying we are going to pass the ball all around to stretch the field and blow top off the Bulldog defense.
