One of the keys to building a successful football program in the state of Arkansas is maintaining and ruling the recruiting inside the state lines. Coach Sam Pittman and staff have done a good job of this.
I’m sure Coach Pittman was thrilled to learn of the commitment flip from Oregon to Arkansas tonight by Fayetteville wide receiver Isaiah Sategna.
Sategna is currently listed as the number one recruit in the state of Arkansas and is now the #1 recruit in the Razorback class of 2022. Losing Sategna to another school outside of Arkansas would have been a huge blow to the program.
I’m sure many fans were thrilled to see the commitment and can’t wait to watch the talented receiver in action as a Hog.
Looking over Sategna’s highlights, it’s easy to see why he is so coveted in recruiting. Sategna’s season is going extremely well. He’s caught 64 passes for 1,260 yards, this also includes 13 touchdowns through nine games. Standing at 5’11 and around 170 pounds, Sategna owns big play potential. It’s a well known fact that outside of football, Sategna shines on the track.
This sprinter ability will allow for a dynamic role in a quick paced offense.

Why the flip to the Razorbacks?
Sategna was previously committed to Texas A&M before committing to Oregon. Coach Pittman and receivers coach Kenny Guiton never gave up on the young man. In the end, Sategna has been quoted as saying “I wanted to be closer to my family and let my family see me play every week”.
The appeal of playing in front of the hometown Razorbacks apparently became an important factor.
It’s also no secret that early in his recruitment process, the Razorbacks were in the midst of a program struggle. Since then, the Hogs have improved greatly and the future is nothing but bright. This certainly played a role in landing this massive commitment.
It’s safe to say that Sategna should have a fantastic career at the University of Arkansas and I’m sure his name will be one we remember for quite some time.
