The Final Stretch: Arkansas Preview and Bowl Projections

NCAA Football: Arkansas-Pine Bluff at Arkansas Nelson Chenault-USA TODAY Sports

We have reached the eve another college football Saturday, but the Hogs will not be taking the field tomorrow. As much as I dislike bye weeks, I think this one is crucial for Sam Pittman’s team. The banged-up Razorbacks are coming off a tough stretch of conference games.

However, the Hogs are sitting at 5-3 with a whole lot left to play for during the back half of the season. The rest of the schedule includes matchups with Mississippi State, LSU, Alabama, and Missouri. One more win will hoist the Hogs into a bowl game for the first time since 2016. But I am sure everyone within the program is eager to recapture the magic established early in the season.

I believe perhaps the most important game remaining is Missouri. The Tigers have whipped the Hogs in recent years, but the time is now to flip the script, and it starts next weekend with Mississippi State. Don’t forget… they remember in November.

Let’s look at some bowl predictions through week 8:

Athlon Sports
Music City Bowl – Nashville, TN

Purdue vs. Arkansas

CBS Sports

Music City Bowl – Nashville, Tennessee

Minnesota vs. Arkansas

College Football News & Saturday Down South

Mercari Texas Bowl – Houston, TX

Iowa State vs. Arkansas

Yahoo Sports

Duke’s Mayo Bowl – Charlotte, NC

NC State vs. Arkansas

These projections are subject to change, but we are rapidly approaching the end of this season. Let’s hope the Hogs regain their momentum and finish this season with a bang. I think all of us fans would love to see Arkansas in any of the bowl games listed above.
