There’s a huge opportunity for the Razorback Men’s Basketball team today as they travel to Gallagher-Iba Arena to face Oklahoma State. They face off in the 2021 Big 12-SEC Challenge.
CELEBRATION OF EXCELLENCE: There’s plenty of storylines in this one with the celebration of Eddie Sutton, the former head coach of the Razorbacks and Cowboys. Sutton won a total of 628 games while he coached both of these teams, 22 NCAA Tournament appearances, five Sweet 16’s, two Elite Eights and three Final Four’s.
HOMECOMING: Razorback assistant coach, Corey Williams played at Oklahoma State from 1988-92, including two years for Eddie Sutton. Williams had a fantastic career for the Cowboys as he holds the eighth spot on the school’s all-time scoring list with 1320 career points.
MATCHUP: The matchup to watch is between two exceptional diaper dandies in Arkansas’ Moses Moody and Oklahoma State’s Cade Cunningham. Bragging rights are at stake for them as they are former teammates and roommates at Montverde Academy in Florida. They played prep school basketball together during their senior year of high school.
Moody has been very good for the Razorbacks scoring at just under 17 points per game this year. While Cunningham has been a game changer for the Cowboys this season. He has averaged exactly 18 points per game with a season high 29 points in their win against Oral Robert’s.
Both Moody and Cunningham are predicted to be lottery picks in the upcoming NBA Draft. Moody is projected anywhere between 11-16th. While Cunningham is expected to be picked first overall.
COWBOYS HAVE ROLLED: Will the Hogs make a dent into their record against Oklahoma State? If the Razorbacks win today it would only be their 16th in the series. The Cowboys lead the all-time series, 37-15 including wins in 11 of the last 13.
