Arkansas Receiver Coach Leaves For South Carolina

Arkansas received a crucial blow to their staff today. Justin Stepp, the receivers coach has been hired at the same position at South Carolina.

Stepp joined the Razorback program in the winter of 2017 when he was hired by then Razorback head coach, Chad Morris. He was previously with Morris staff at SMU before his arrival in Fayetteville.

In 2020, Stepp really improved a wide receiver position that really struggled to get open the three seasons before. The emergence of Mike Woods, De’Vion Warren really rose his stock this season as guys that were previously unheard of around the SEC that turned into prime targets for quarterback Feleipe Franks.
Stepp was also an elite recruiter as he brought in plenty of star power to a position group the really lacked big play talent before his arrival. He was able to sign former four-star receivers Treylon Burks, Trey Knox, Ketron Jackson, Raheim Sanders, Shamar Nash, TQ Jackson and Darin Turner.

The terms to Stepp’s deal with South Carolina are currently unavailable. He will join first year coach, Shane Beamer’s Gamecock staff. Stepp is a native of Pelion, South Carolina so this is probably a “going home” move for him.
