Arkansas is going to have one of the youngest on-field coaching staff’s in the country. According to Tom Murphy of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette, former Missouri linebacker, Michael Scherer, is expected to be promoted from his off-field position with Arkansas to coach linebackers for the Razorbacks

Scherer will replace Rion Rhoades who joined Arkansas in 2019 when Sam Pittman was hired as head coach. Rhoades will be moving to an off-field role with Arkansas.

Scherer had quite the career at Missouri. He played for the Tigers from 2013-2016 and recorded 266 tackles and 17 tackles for a loss at his linebacker position.

Scherer joined Arkansas in an off-field role with Barry Odom as a defensive analyst. He is the third former Missouri assistant to have an on-field role for Arkansas. That includes offensive line coach, Brad Davis and defensive backs coach, Sam Carter.
