Brace Yourselves: Arkansas Has Potential To Surprise With 2021 Class

Arkansas is currently in the top 30 in recruiting and sits 8th overall in the SEC. Can Pittman continue to elevate the Hogs in recruiting?

Yeah, I said it. The Razorbacks have been on a hot streak as of late in recruiting with a tally of 12 total recruits in the class. Currently, the class is made up predominantly of offensive prospects. Nine of twelve current commits will likely play offense for the Hogs.

So, what about defense? Arkansas is on several highly touted players beginning with instate prospect Dreyden Norwood (6’0 175). He’s played mostly at quarterback during his career at Fort Smith Northside but is a projected starter at the power five level at any position in the secondary. The highest rated player in the state, Norwood boasts a great lean frame, very athletic and agile enough to play multiple positions. Look for Norwood to make an impact early if he indeed commits to Arkansas.

Out of St. Augustine, Florida Byron Turner Jr. is a very highly rated defensive end among all the recruiting sites. At 6’3.5 237 pounds, he already has the body of an instant impact player in his freshman class. He has been very quiet in his recruitment but is said to be leaning towards a group of schools like Arkansas, Florida, Oklahoma, Ole Miss and Baylor. Time will tell but Turner could be a steal for the 2021 class.

This next defensive prospect could be a long shot but getting his signature would be absolutely incredible. The four-star cornerback out of IMG Academy is heavily recruited and has offers from 20 schools including Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Michigan, Penn State and the Hogs.

Whatever happens in recruiting, you know Pittman and his staff are on the verge of doing something great. One can even guarantee once in home visits are reinstated that Pittman is a game changer and convince kids and their parents that Arkansas is the place for them.
