Biggest And Best Games Of The Series

December 2, 1993 – Bud Walton Arena Opening

Missouri 68 @ #3 Arkansas 120

The opening of the Basketball Palace of Mid-America. Bud Walton Arena. The Bud. There is nothing like the place! My favorite place to be on a Saturday afternoon. The eventual National Champs couldn’t have started things off better in the building. Missouri came to town, but had no clue what was coming. Arkansas had 6 players score in double figures, shot nearly 60% from the field, and made 16 threes. The Hogs scored 75 points in the 2nd half to go on to win 120-68.

December 5, 1995

Arkansas 104 @ #11 Missouri 93

Arkansas was coming off of back to back Championship game appearances, but was looking to reload after their core had moved on. A road win over #11 Missouri was just what the doctor ordered. Arkansas forced 22 turnovers and Kareem Reid had 22 points to lead the Hogs to victory, 104-93.

November 28, 1980 – Great Alaska Shootout

#11 Missouri 73 vs. #20 Arkansas 81

The first of just 2 Top 25 matchups in the series with Missouri came in the Eddie Sutton Era at the Great Alaska Shootout in Anchorage. Darrell Walker, Scott Hastings, and U.S. Reed combined for 56 points in the 8 point win.

January 13, 2018

Missouri 63 @ Arkansas 65

This specific game wasn’t a great one to watch. It was ugly and slow paced, but the finish was awesome! With just under a minute left, Daniel Gafford got the hoop and the harm to give Arkansas the lead. Bud Walton Arena erupted when the ball bounced on the rim a few times before falling through the net. Gafford led the Hogs that day with 16 points and 6 rebounds.

December 8, 1990 – Ending Missouri’s 34 Home Game Winning Streak

#3 Arkansas 95 @ Missouri 82

The Tigers had a 34 home game winning streak when the Hogs came to town. Todd Day and Arlyn Bowers did their part in ending the streak with 45 combined points. This game was a weird one. Missouri shot 60.3% from the field, but lost the game. Why? Arkansas shot 52.1% from the field, but made 11 threes versus just 1 made three for Missouri.

Outstanding Performances

Moses Kingsley – January 12, 2016

Kingsley was dominant in this route of the Tigers. He had 24 points, 5 rebounds, 4 blocks, 3 assists and 2 steals all while shooting 8 of 8 from the field.

Pat Bradley – December 7, 1996

Bradley shot 8 of 11 with 30 points, 4 assists, and 4 steals. Arkansas would sneak by with a 4 point road win.
