On The Trail: Razorback Commitment Cole Carson

A new series for Arkansas Fight is “On the Trail” where a member of our staff interviews a prospect or commitment for any Razorback sport.

This week we had the opportunity to talk with Cole Carson, the newest 2021 commitment for the Razorback football team from Bogota, Texas. He is a consensus three star offensive tackle and is ranked in the top 50 at his position. Carson had offers from TCU, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Texas A&M and many more.

On your unofficial visit what stood out to you about the school and program?

“When I went to Arkansas I loved the facility and school.”

Did Sam Pittman’s career as the best offensive line coach in the country impact your decision to commit to Arkansas?

“I like Pittman and (Brad) Davis a lot. I really love both personalities. They want to win and I want to win, too. You cant take anything off the past (precious two seasons). (Arkansas) is going to come in and win some games this season. I believe they will be an SEC contender in the next two or three seasons.”

What are your strengths as a player?
“I have good hand-eye coordination, very quick off the line of scrimmage and great strength to move the defenders around.”

Goals for the 2020 season:
“I am one of the main leaders on my team. I am also the only player to ever play four years on my varsity team. We want to win as many playoff games as we can and go further than any team in school history.”

Other sports
“I throw shot put during the spring for track. This season was cancelled unfortunate but I advanced to regionals last year as the only sophomore to make it and won district.”
