I want to say this will be a good week just to measure progress for the Hogs, but I just don’t know what you’re going to be able to take away. As more players opt out, maybe you’re seeing a preview of 2021? But if it’s a 2021-look, it’s going to be a little undercooked, since these Hogs are gonna look a lot different after the off-season.
Alabama’s playing for this year. They look like the best team in the country (again), with an incredible offense and a defense that has gotten a lot better as the season’s progressed. This is not the same defense that gave up vast swaths of land to Ole Miss.
So this probably won’t be the most enjoyable game on the schedule. But when has the Bama game been that?
You’re still going to have a bowl after this, a chance to end the season on a high note. And don’t forget, as the Hogs have been in a mire lately, that this season has turned out a lot better than anyone thought it could have. It’s easy to get too focused in on the last few games, but with a holistic perspective, appreciate the difference that this season has provided. I’m feeling good about the future.
The other games in the SEC don’t look that much more competitive, and Arkansas Fight’s pretty much at a consensus. Does anyone see a game that could turn out to be more interesting? Let us know in the comments!
