After a mid-week win over Charlotte, the Hogs took 2 of 3 from Louisiana Tech to improve to 12-2 overall. They will further tune up against Western Illinois before starting the conference season at home against Missouri this weekend.
Hitter of the Week
Bouncing back from and 0 for 5, 3 strikeout performance on Friday, Casey Martin drove in 6 runs with 2 home runs in the final two games of the weekend. Both home runs were of the three run variety, and Martin also added a double in game 2. While the first home run was inside the park as a result of the outfielders attempting to sell a trapped ball ground rule double, his homer on Sunday was a no doubter that he got to enjoy from the moment he stepped out of the box.
See the ball. Hit the ball. @cmartin15_ is a hitter.

Pitcher of the Week
After giving up 12 runs and using 8 pitchers in the loss on Saturday, Arkansas needed Cody Scroggins to go deep into his start on Sunday, and he turned in a brilliant performance. He finished with 6 shutout innings, 11 strikeouts, 2 hits, and 1 walk. It was the best start of his career to date and just what the Hogs needed to take the series over the Bulldogs.
Most Important Stat
Against a veteran Louisiana Tech team picked to win a strong Conference USA, Arkansas pitchers had 39 strikeouts to only 6 walks in the three game series. This has been their MO so far this season as they have struck out 159 and allowed just 41 walks through 14 games.
Mid-Week Warrior
Christian Franklin just missed the natural cycle Wednesday against Charlotte. He went 3 for 4 with a single, double, triple (in order), 3 RBI, and 1 run scored. Franklin’s success at the bottom of the order has him leading the team in batting average (.381), RBI (16), and slugging percentage (.643)
