Arkansas started February 1994 with a Super Tuesday showdown with Vanderbilt in Bud Walton Arena, coming off a hard-fought road victory at Tennessee.
The Commodores were pesky and stayed close for much of the game, hitting 12 3-pointers and getting a game-high 26 points from Ronnie McMahan.
However, they had no answer inside for Big Nasty, as Corliss Williamson scored 24 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to lead the Hogs to a 89-76 victory. Roger Crawford chipped in 16 points off the bench and Al Dillard added 13 on 3 treys. Clint McDaniel was still out with injury so Davor Rimac made his second consecutive start.
The following Saturday saw Arkansas step out of conference and play Montevallo in what was essentially a warm-up game for the impending showdown in Lexington the following week at Kentucky.
Arkansas won 131-63 and every active player on the roster except Ray Biggers scored. They headed to Rupp Arena as the last team to defeat them in that building in 1992, as they had reeled off 33 straight wins since then.
