The Wizards' Bobby Portis picked up where he left off before the All Star break and has put up two double-doubles in his first three games back. He scored 12 points with 12 rebounds, 4 steals, and an assist in a loss to Charlotte, and then scored 10 points with 12 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 assist in a win over Brooklyn. After putting on a three-point shooting clinic in recent games, he has made only 1-8 in his last three outings.
Patrick Beverley came close to another triple double this week, scoring 17 points with 8 rebounds and 9 assists in a win against Dallas. He shot 5-11 from three in the contest. The following game, Beverley filled up the stat sheet in a double-double effort with 12 points, 10 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals, and 1 blocked shot.
To provide an update on a couple of free agents: Logan Forsythe signed a minor league contract with the Texas Rangers this week and has been invited to their Spring Training. Dallas Keuchel remains in free agency as Spring Training games begin. Several teams have expressed interest this offseason, including the recently bolstered Phillies, but there is also a chance that he could end up back in Houston.
