Ty Storey Listed In NCAA Transfer Portal

Arkansas’ starter for much of 2018 looks to be leaving.

Arkansas has been in the market for a transfer quarterback this offseason, but got a bit of an unexpected twist when news broke that Ty Storey was now in the NCAA Transfer Portal and exploring his options per Cole Cubelic.

Storey was the starter for the majority of the 2018 season for the Hogs. In 10 games he completed 57% of his passes for 1,584 yards with 11 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He looked to have the starting job locked down after the season opener against Eastern Illinois, but struggled and was replaced by Cole Kelley in the Colorado State game, after the North Texas game with six interceptions, Storey was back in as the starter.

This likely means that Arkansas has a grad transfer of their own coming in, or that things are going to be extremely thin at quarterback for 2019. If there’s any rumors for an incoming grad transfer, it’s only speculative but Vegas has the Hogs as the favorite for Texas QB Shane Buechele.

As things stand right now, Connor Noland, who will be playing baseball this spring, or true freshman KJ Jefferson are the most likely to start in 2019 if no one comes in. However there is still time for some movement in a grad transfer QB, and there are plenty of options out there.
