Women’s Basketball
They started SEC play with the daunting task of Teaira McCowan and Mississippi State. The Hogs didn’t have an answer for her and the Hogs fell 93-69 but rebounded well just a couple days later against Ole Miss.
On the road Arkansas blew the doors off the Rebels with an 85-55 win. Arkansas had four players in double figures and blew the game open with a big second quarter. Arkansas led 42-25 at the break and only grew the lead from there. That win puts the Hogs at 5-1 on the road this season after having just three road wins a year ago.
Swimming and Diving
Only the divers were in action this weekend at the Georgia Diving invite. Brooke Shultz was first in her two events, the 1 meter and 3 meter events. She was named SEC Diver of the Week for the fourth time this season. Maha Amer was 3rd in the platform event as well.
Gymnastics
The Hogs opened the season hosting and falling to No. 2 Oklahoma 198.050-195.575. But Because the Gymnastics polls are purely based off points, the Hogs moved up two spots in the polls to No. 10 in the country. Sophomore Sophia Carter led the team with a 9.950 score with her floor routine, which is currently tied for 1st in the nation.
