Preview and Gamethread: Arkansas vs Georgia

Arkansas looks to get back in the win column against a struggling Georgia team

Time: 6 p.m.

TV: ESPNU

Line: Arkansas -7.5, O/U: 152.5

Location: Bud Walton Arena

It’s back at Bud Walton for the Hogs and they’ll be favored against Tom Crean’s Georgia side. They have struggled this season but have shown the ability to punch above their weight, as shown by their win over Texas. Arkansas should win this one but will have to execute well to do so.

Mason Jones is going to have a tough matchup in this one with Rayshaun Hammonds. Hammonds is their leading scorer and second leading rebounder, and will have a clear size difference over Jones. Daniel Gafford matching up with Nicolas Claxton will be one to watch as well. Claxton is averaging over nine rebounds pergame and is the Bulldogs’ second leading scorer.

The good news for Arkansas is that Georgia has had major turnover issues all season. Their turnover percentage has been over 20% in 14 of their 19 games and are last in the SEC in forcing turnovers. They attempt to make up for that with some very good offensive rebounding but Arkansas will have their sights set on exploiting the Bulldogs’ biggest weakness in this one. If they force turnovers even close to the level they did against Texas Tech they should come out on top.
