The Hogs have added another 4-star to the 2019 recruiting class, bringing in Jalen Catalon. The safety from Masfield Legacy High School in Texas will be joining his teammates Taurean Carter and Enoch Jackson. Both were so excited to have their teammate join them on the Hill they perisoped the commitment live.

Catalon is a little undersized, listed at 5’9” and 180 lbs. but he was named District 10-5A MVP as a junior. He was also named the Texas Class 5A defensive MVP as a sophomore. Unfortunately his senior season was cut short after an injury in the season opener.
That injury didn’t prevent some major programs to want to bring in Catalon. He chose the Hogs over a final four including Texas, TCU, and Oklahoma. Catalon is also a talented baseball player as well and has expressed interest in playing both sports at the collegiate level, but the center fielder doesn’t have any definite spot with the baseball program.
Arkansas has now brought in three players from the Mansfield Legacy program, and all on defense. He’s the ninth 4-star according to 247Sports to commit to the Hogs in this recruiting class. He slots in as the fifth highest rated player in Arkansas’ class, and the second highest on the defensive side of the ball.
