SEC Power Rankings: A Huge Jump

Two teams made big leaps this week.

NCAA Basketball: Auburn at Mississippi Matt Bush-USA TODAY Sports

14. Vanderbilt

A 19 point loss to the team previously in the 14th spot is a good way to find yourself at the bottom of the conference.

13. Georgia

They couldn’t hang with Auburn this weekend but that win against Vandy was a real positive sign.

12. Texas A&M

Dug themselves out of the bottom with a badly needed win in Tuscaloosa.

11. Arkansas

They gave up 57 in one game and 94 in the other this week. The rollercoaster this season is currently at a valley.

10. Missouri

They just didn’t look like they could hang at home with Tennessee then lost by double digits at South Carolina. Not a good start to SEC play.

9. South Carolina

The Gamecocks are 3-0 in the SEC?

The Gamecocks are 3-0 in the SEC.

8. Alabama

Losses to both LSU and Texas A&M are not how you want to follow up a win against Kentucky.

7. Mississippi State

Are the Bulldogs falling to earth? It was a rough week, falling on the road to South Carolina and again at home to Ole Miss.

6. Florida

Won ugly in Fayetteville, but missed a chance for a real statement win against Tennessee. They should be fine, probably.

5. Ole Miss

Well look who is for real this year. After getting the home upset against Auburn they went to Starkville and knocked off their rival Mississippi State. This year is already blowing past what most expected of Kermit Davis in year one.

4. LSU

They look like a very sound SEC team. Naz Reid is a very good compliment alongside guards Tremont Waters and Skylar Mays.

3. Auburn

After dropping a road game to Ole Miss, they bounced back well against a rough looking Georgia team.

2. Kentucky

After dropping their SEC opener, they didn’t look overly convincing at home, but got the job done twice.

1. Tennessee

The Vols got a 24 point road win and an 11 point road win this weekend. Good luck slowing them down.
