NFL
After two games of receiving less than 10 carries per game, Alex Collins converted 18 carries into 68 yards and a short touchdown run. It seems as if Baltimore still considers Collins as their primary running back and that the first two weeks were a fluke regarding his few touches.
Darius Philon had his biggest game of the young season for the Chargers, registering 5 total tackles, including 4 solo and 2 for a loss of 5 total yards. Philon has seen quite a bit of time, playing in 60-70% of snaps in the first three games.
Although Trey Flowers missed this week after sustaining a concussion in last week’s game, Deatrich Wise Jr. picked up the slack with another sack, bringing him to 2.5 on the season. Wise Jr. finished the game with 4 total tackles, 3 of which were solo.
Offensive linemen are rarely in the spotlight unless they are penalized, which is unfortunate. However, this week the Lions’ Frank Ragnow was praised on Sunday Night Football against the Patriots for playing an integral role on an offensive line that helped Kerryon Johnson become the first Lions running back to rush for over 100 yards in a game since 2013.

All 3 of Chris Smith’s tackles this week were for a loss of 5 total yards for the Browns who enjoyed their first win since the 2016 season.

Andrew Benintendi picked up 5 hits, 3 RBI and a stolen base over the past week as the Red Sox have clinched the AL East and home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Finishing a lost season strong, Brian Anderson recorded 6 hits and 2 RBI over his past 4 games. Anderson played most of the early season in the outfield before returning to third base when Martin Prado was injured. Though he struggled with the glove at Arkansas, he has fielded an impressive .994 this season and has committed just 7 errors in 67 games at third base.
Jalen Beeks allowed 2 earned runs over 5 innings in two appearances this week, earning a win and striking out 3. The win moves Beeks to 5-1 on the season.
Ryne Stanek made four appearances over the last week and allowed 2 earned runs in 3 innings, striking out 4.
Dallas Keuchel struggled in two starts this past week, allowing 8 earned runs and striking out 8 in 10 innings, but earning the victory in one of them. Houston has clinched a playoff spot and needs to win two games or for Oakland to lose two games in order to win the division.
