Week 2 SEC Power Rankings

Trying not to overreact to September.

NCAA Football: Kentucky at Florida Kim Klement-USA TODAY Sports

14. Tennessee

Cruised to a win over an FCS school. They get another easy game in UTEP before the schedule turns to murder really quick.

13. Arkansas

I will not overreact to one game.

I will not overreact to one game.

I will not-

12. Vanderbilt

The Commodores look pretty solid in their first two games! Allowing 17 total points against two Group of 5 teams. They also did something very similar in 2017 before getting decimated by SEC teams so the jury is still out on Vandy.

11. Florida

At least Arkansas isn’t the only team having a rough transition period with their new coach?

10. Kentucky

Look at you Wildcats! Ending that streak must have been outstanding. Also their team has this dude, which is worth some points on its own.

9. Ole Miss

A 76-41 win over Southern Illinois? I thought basketball season didn’t start until November.

8. South Carolina

It’s okay, a lot of teams are going to get run over by Georgia this year. In a related note the SEC East might be decided in two weeks time.

7. Missouri

Mizzou looks like the only real hope of knocking off Georgia in the SEC East right now. Drew Lock threw for 398 yards and four touchdowns against a very solid Wyoming defense. Yeah, he’s really good.

6. Texas A&M

It’s very rare to bump up a couple spots after a home loss, but man, the Aggies put up a good fight against Clemson this weekend. A couple of those passes Kellen Mond made won

5. LSU

Hey shutouts are good. Even if it’s against an FCS opponent.

4. Mississippi State

The Bulldogs went to Kansas State and put a 31-10 win down that was even more impressive than the final score looked. Kylin Hill got more yards than the entire Wildcats team.

3. Auburn

Nothing to say about this week for Auburn really, even as FCS opponents go Alabama State is one of the worst.

2. Georgia

Mission accomplished in the first conference game of the season for Georgia. They get Missouri in two weeks and very well could have the East just about wrapped up then with the way the rest of the division is looking.

1.Alabama

Mhmm.
