The emphasis to recruit Texas more is paying off again for the Razorback football team. Arkansas got a beefy commit from defensive tackle from Carl Williams. He joins TQ Jefferson as the second Texas commit of the week and the eighth of the 2019 class.

Williams is a 6’4” 310 lb. 3-star from Lufkin, TX. He picked the Hogs over Oklahoma and had recently taken a visit to Arizona as well. Ole Miss, Oklahoma State, and Houston had also offered the big man. He visited Arkansas in early June and originally planned on committing in the fall, but the visit really stuck with him as he chose to commit early.
Last season, Williams had 56 tackles, including six for loss and four sacks. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 47 DT in the nation. Much like TQ Jefferson’s situation, Williams was offered by Chad Morris’ staff while at SMU and the recruitment carried over to their time in Fayetteville.
