The widely publicized “Woo Pignic”, a huge recruiting weekend inviting a whole bunch of Arkansas’ top targets, got their first commit. Linebacker Zach Zimos told the coaching staff before this weekend that he planned to come to Fayetteville, but made it public this morning.

Zimos is a 3-star linebacker from Richmond, Texas. He picked the Hogs over offers from Missouri, Texas Tech, Cal, Houston, Purdue, and others. The staff had felt pretty confident about where they stood with Zimos for a while now but getting the word from him made this weekend all the better for them. He had previously committed to Cal, and after decommitting took visits to Fayetteville, Missouri, and Texas Tech. And from everything he has said, doesn’t plan to change anything.
The 6-foot-4, 215 pound outside linebacker already has a good size and frame for what the coaching staff wants. In the past two seasons in high school he’s racked up over 90 tackles and seven interceptions.
