Getting the recruit to come on campus for a visit is such a huge step, and it showed today when Arkansas got a commitment from Mataio Soli. A huge target for the Hogs’ 2019 class.
If that name sounds familiar, he’s a second generation Razorback. His dad, Junior Soli, was a defensive lineman at Arkansas from 1992-95 and was drafted by the San Diego Chargers.
The younger Soli already has a big frame, 6-foot-4, 225 lbs, and is a three star recruit by 247Sports. If the rating doesn’t stand out the list of offers should. He chose the Hogs over offers from Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Washington, and plenty of other schools. If one of those schools comes calling, maybe they’re looking for a diamond in the rough. If that many of those schools come, it’s a sign he’s probably underrated by recruiting services.
Soli is the first defensive lineman committed for the Hogs in the 2019 class. He was one of two to commits from this weekend, and really the best recruiting weekend of Chad Morris’ early time at Arkansas.
