RECAP: Barford’s 27 Leads Arkansas Over Florida

But we’re mostly gonna talk about that Gafford dunk.

NCAA Basketball: SEC Conference Tournament-Florida vs Arkansas Billy Hurst-USA TODAY Sports

Jaylen Barford had 27 and 10, Daniel Gafford had 16 and 12, and the Hogs overcame another off night from Daryl Macon to beat Florida 80-72 to make it to the SEC semifinals where they will face Tennessee. A huge 12-0 second half run propelled the Hogs past the Gators thanks to an incredible defensive and rebounding effort. Arkansas out rebounded the Gators 43-28 and had 18 second chance points. It was a complete win that may have given the Hogs a 6 seed come Saturday.

Now that’s out of the way we need to talk about the dunk.

This dunk.

That’s Gafford putting on the exclamation point with a capital E. For the second time this year he went a full 360 degrees and murdering a rim that probably had a family. Its that kind of violence that gives Arkansas basketball a PG-13 rating.

If he keeps this up Bud Walton Arena will soon be powered solely by the wind power harnessed by Daniel’s windmill dunks. You have to credit him for being so conscious about such an earth friendly alternative fuel.

Mike Anderson always says enjoy it until midnight and then move onto the next one. Well at the time of writing this it’s not quite midnight. So we’re going to enjoy it.

Okay one more time.
