Dustin Thomas Dismissed From Basketball Team

The senior forward won’t be a part of tournament play.

Arkansas got a blow to their depth right before tournament play gets started. A statement released by the team announced Dustin Thomas has been dismissed from the basketball team.

This is not Thomas’ first suspension, he missed the first three games of the season, and had a couple of random DNP’s that were not announced as suspensions but speculation was still there.

After two years at Colorado, Thomas transferred to Arkansas and played both last season and this year. He started 16 games this season and averaged just over five points and four rebounds. After his last DNP eight games ago, Thomas finished the year averaging 5.4 points per game on 54% shooting and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Arkansas will likely see a boost in minutes from Adrio Bailey and Gabe Osabuohien at the power forward position. His rebounding and defense will be a decent size hole to replace. Thomas was tied for second on the team in rebounds per game, and was tied for third in steals per game.
