Ryan Winkel Signs With Arkansas

The Memphis OL is heading to the hill.

The offensive line issues have been well documented at Arkansas, the recruiting class of 2018 is bringing in some bodies to try and address that. Ryan Winkel is the most recent offensive line signee coming to Fayetteville.

A three star from the Memphis area, Winkel has a big frame at 6’7” and 280 lbs. He was getting a lot of attention from across the country after his senior season. He picked the Hogs over Mississippi State, Tennessee, Nebraska, Northwestern, Virginia, and UCF.

Winkel was first team all-state in Tennessee last year and was one of the top offensive linemen in the area, leading Christian Brothers to a 12-1 record senior year. Arkansas needs bodies at the offensive line to bring in some new competition and depth. Winkel doesn’t have the flash of a five star coming in but was a late find by the new coaching staff and adds to a position of need for the Hogs.
