Arkansas is still going to need running backs in this new up tempo offense, and they were able to bring in Rakeem Boyd, a JUCO running back who couldn’t wait long today to sign.

The third ranked JUCO running back, Boyd comes to Arkansas after a year at Independence, Kansas. Before that he spent a redshirt year at Texas A&M. This time around he picked the Razorbacks over Arizona State, and Colorado. Coming out of high school, he was rated as a 4-star guy when he initially chose A&M.
Boyd is originally from the Houston area, and this past year at Independence C.C. he ran for over 1,200 yards and 14 touchdowns in just 10 games, including a 303 yard performance against Coffeyville C.C. He was a part of this late recruiting push by the new staff and his relationship with Running Backs coach Jeff Traylor and Devwah Whaley helped make his decision.
