Both teams are under different circumstances than the first meeting

Last Time Out

It was a high scoring, hot shooting affair last time these two teams faced off. Arkansas won 97-93, but the circumstances for both teams are very different. Arkansas was coming off the Florida loss and was happy to get a game at home, but now has the postseason in their sights. Ole Miss has lost six in a row and news broke that the Rebels and Andy Kennedy will part ways at the end of the year.

Projected Starters

The first matchup saw Daryl Macon coming off the bench, where he dropped a crucial 20 points. He won’t likely be coming off the bench for the rest of the year. Mike Anderson will likely rely on his senior guards and lean on them heavily. Ole Miss was kept in the game largely due to Terence Davis’ 30 points on 10/15 shooting. Arkansas will need to keep him in check while still keeping the Rebels’ role players down.

Key Stats From Last Time

Both teams were pretty efficient offensively in the last meeting. Arkansas had a more comfortable lead than the final score lets on, but some late shooting from the Rebels made things close. Arkansas was able to get that lead from the big advantage from the bench. Macon had 20 of those, but CJ Jones still had a good day from deep, plus Darious Hall and Arlando Cook combined for 17. Arkansas will need production from their role players in this one. With a very tough final stretch coming up, Arkansas is looking at a winnable road game, and it’s one they have to have.
