How did the Women do in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge?

Women’s Basketball

They topped Oral Roberts 74-61 early in the week. They got off to a quick start in the first quarter and led 38-23 at the half and cruised in the second half. Chelsea Dungee led the Hogs with 21 points and seven rebounds.

Then in the SEC/Big 12 Challenge they fell 91-82 to #22 Iowa State in Ames. Again Dungee was the leader for the Hogs, who scored 19 of her 27 total points in the third quarter. Arkansas trailed by as much as 14 but were able to cut the deficit to just 85-82 before the Cyclones closed out the game on a 6-0 run. The Challenge ended in a tie for the second consecutive year.

Swimming and Diving

The team competition was put on hold while a few Hogs raced at the USA Winter Nationals. Four swimmers made it to finals, also Kobie Melton and Madison Strathman qualified for the Olympic Trials in June. Anna Hopkin had a strong performance in the 100 Freestyle as well, finishing 3rd in the prelims and 4th in the finals.

Only women’s basketball this week. They play Tennessee Tech (12/4) at home and Abilene Christian (12/8) on the road.
