On January 20, 1993, Arkansas native William Jefferson Clinton was sworn in as the nation’s 42nd president.

Clinton was and still is an avid Hog basketball fan, and when he elected to make a visit to the glorious new Bud Walton Arena on Dec. 28, 1993, it made history and the team put on a performance worthy of the occasion.

Texas Southern was the victim of the onslaught. By the end of the evening, Arkansas had defeated the Tigers 129-63. The 66 point beatdown was their second largest margin of victory on the year.

The Hogs led 59-22 at halftime and hit 20 3-pointers in the contest. Scotty Thurman, Clint McDaniel, Davor Rimac, and Alex Dillard each hit four.

Every Hog that played scored, led by Davor Rimac’s 18. It was a very balanced beatdown, six different Hogs had double figures. And the Hogs moved the ball around, getting 32 assists on their 46 made shots.
