Arkansas linebacker Dee Walker was arrested Wednesday night on multiple charges, including drug and weapons charges. KARK News Director Austin Kellerman was the first to break the news.
The Athletic Department has released a statement on the matter, saying they are aware of the arrest and continuing to monitor the situation. They also announced Walker is suspended indefinitely from the program. His name has already been removed from the roster on the team’s website, which probably isn’t a good sign for a potential return.
In 2017, Walker played mostly on special teams and this last season saw more playing time but was still further down on the depth chart.
In recent years, Arkansas has done much better in avoiding big off field incidents, making this one stand out quite a bit more. In Chad Morris’ time, this is the third arrest and the first that wasn’t for D.U.I. Both Mike Woods and Ryder Lucas were suspended one game for those.
