How did teams wrap up the year?

14. Arkansas

13. Ole Miss

The Egg Bowl had players ejected in a play that didn’t even count. Long live the Egg Bowl.

12. Tennessee

The Vols and Commodores faced off for a bowl bid, and the Vols got their doors blown off. An ugly end to a season that had some promise.

11. Vanderbilt

Good for Derek Mason and the Commodores who got to another bowl thanks to a win over the Vols for a second straight year.

10. South Carolina

The Gamecocks have a 12th game against Akron to get to 7-5. That’ll just be for marginal bowl rankings.

9. Auburn

7-5 is a big disappointment in the plains, but not a big enough to fire Gus. 2019 is setting up for a season where the Tigers start unranked and end up 10-2.

8. Missouri

The Tigers ended the season looking very strong, but strength of schedule in the final weekend is hurting them here in these rankings.

7. Mississippi State

Again, long live the Egg Bowl.

6. Texas A&M

They won the game of the year, and it ultimately meant very little for the Aggies except for getting a slightly better bowl. College football rules.

5. Kentucky

Thrashing your rivals to finish the year 9-3 has to feel good. It’s an outside shot but we could see the Wildcats in a New Year’s Six spot.

4. LSU

Ed Orgeron got a gatorade bath. About an hour later his team lost. College football rules.

3. Florida

Wrapping up the year at 9-3 and almost guaranteed a New Year’s Six spot. That’s a fantastic first year for Dan Mullen.

2. Georgia

They cruised against Georgia Tech and are playing some of their best football. Will it matter against Bama? Probably not.

1. Alabama

Yup.
