After a tough loss at Fort Bliss, the Hogs return home for the first game of the year in Bud Walton Arena. The Hogs are a big favorite in this one and should win comfortably.

Arkansas’ guards will definitely have a size advantage in this one. Mason Jones and Isaiah Joe should be able to feast in this one. UC Davis started A.J. John after he missed the season opener, but they could easily go with 6’11” Matt Neufeld if they want to try and cancel out Gafford with more size down low. UC Davis don’t have anyone averaging double figures (more on that offense later) but T.J. Shorts II and Neufeld are both averaging 9.5 per game.

For now starts are a little tricky to work with because of small sample size. Despite that it’s very clear that this UC Davis team is going to struggle offensively. They haven’t hit 60 in their first two games against San Francisco and San Diego. That horrendous three point shooting is a big reason why. For the Hogs perspective, its a chance to put the clamps down on defense and keep that points total low. It should be a nice rebound for the Hogs and preparation for Indiana coming to town this weekend.
