After several wins in recruiting in the past month, Chad Morris and the Hogs took a bit of a step back this week. Joseph Stone, the largest commit the Hogs had, announced he is re opening his recruitment.
He’s the third to decommit in the 2019 class, along with Travis Hopper and Ty Evans who both re-opened their recruiting months ago. Stone offers a lot in terms of size at 6-foot-8 and 354 lbs. He didn’t have a ton of offers from other schools. Currently Louisville and Purdue are the other Power 5 schools to offer him.
This creates a bit bigger hole for the offensive line. As nice as the high recruiting numbers looks, the lack of quality on the offensive line remains a concern, and it looks like Morris will have to look more to the JUCO ranks to bring guys in who can improve the offensive line. Arkansas is currently starting three seniors, Hjalte Froholdt, Johnny Gibson, and Brian Wallace, to an already thin line. There are still holes to fill.
