The Razorbacks - somehow, someway - finished 3rd in the SEC.
Arkansas started out 1-3 in conference play and were 6-5 after the dispiriting loss to Vanderbilt about a month ago. But the Hogs won 6 of their last 7 games and won a tiebreaker over South Carolina to claim 3rd place. It’s an astonishing turnaround. Arkansas went 6-3 both at home and on the road.
What does this mean for Arkansas and the SEC Tournament? Here’s the rundown:
- Arkansas will play in the late game Friday night quarterfinals
- The Razorbacks will play the winner of the Ole Miss vs Missouri/Auburn Wednesday Night Sadness winner
- Yes, we’re rolling with #WednesdayNightSadness
- If Arkansas wins on Friday, the Hogs will most likely play Florida on Saturday if the Gators win on Friday. Florida will play the Vanderbilt/Texas A&M winner.
Here’s the full bracket but without the names filled in:

This is the second time Arkansas has earned a bye to Friday since the expansion to 14 SEC teams five season ago. The Razorbacks have never settled for Wednesday Night Sadness. Thankfully John Pelphrey was gone before that was implemented.
