It’s only halfway through February but Razorback fans have already gone through a ton of ups and downs as the basketball season nears the final stretch. With a road game against South Carolina up next, Arkansas has an opportunity to really make a statement, or they can continue to live on the edge like this article talks about. The SEC is a jumbled mess and right now only 3 teams look like NCAA Tournament locks, getting a win over one would be huge for Mike Anderson.
Now we know the coaching staff for the Hogs in 2017, but where will they focus their recruiting efforts? Defensive line coach John Scott Jr. has a lot of ties to the North Carolina area but most likely will focus on Georgia, the area that he recruited during his time at Texas Tech. Chad Walker has made coaching stops in Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Mississippi, so he could work in any of those areas but the staff doesn’t have a main recruiter for Oklahoma and could use Walker most there.
There is now a time and network for the Razorback Spring Game. This year it will be at noon on April 29th. If you can make the game you can make it a doubleheader with the Baseball team taking on Ole Miss that day at 4 p.m. If you can’t make it to Fayetteville the game will be on SEC Network.
Part of this year’s recruiting class was Hayden Henry, Hunter’s brother. The Razorbacks just offered a third Henry brother, Hudson, a scholarship. Like Hunter, he is being recruited as a tight end. Include his father Mark and he could potentially be the fourth member of the Henry family to play for the Hogs.
It’s nearly opening weekend for the Diamond Hogs and they just got some more bad news on the injury front. Newcomer and JUCO transfer Jared Gates was projected to start at first base, but a broken bone in his hand will force him to sit for a few weeks. Dave Van Horn said he was one of the hottest hitters on the team coming into the season.
