Changes in staffs brings changes in recruiting classes and Michael Woods is the perfect example here. He was SMU’s top rated recruit, but decided his relationship with Chad Morris was what was most important and followed him to Fayetteville, signing with the Hogs today.

Woods’ biggest attribute will be his speed, which makes sense with Chad Morris wanting him for his up tempo system. He was also a prolific kick and punt returner during his time in High School.
Woods will hopefully be the beggining of a revamped effort by the Hogs to recruit the state of Texas, an area that was severely lacking in the past couple of years and really hurt the Hogs in 2017. It may not show up in this class with Morris’ short time period to work with, but hopefully its a swing in the right dorection.
