College Football Top 25 Polls: Arkansas Still Ranked After Texas A&M Loss

The Hogs took a fall, but not a very deep one.

Arkansas is still clinging to a top 20 ranking after losing to the Aggies (at least in one poll), but the Razorbacks are still ranked among the nation’s top 25 for the third consecutive week.

Arkansas fell from 17th to 20th in the AP Poll and from 18th to 22nd in the Coaches Poll.

Unless War Memorial collapses and/or the Hogs can’t find a way to beat Alcorn State this week, the Hogs will likely climb a bit in next week’s polls with a win to set up a likely top-20 matchup against Alabama in Fayetteville on October 8th.

Every voter in the AP Poll voted for Arkansas last week, but we can’t pinpoint one single hater this time around. Seventeen voters didn’t include the Razorbacks in their rankings this week. The Hogs still have some big fans around the country, however. Four voters still had Arkansas inside the top 17, led by our friend Jon Vilner of the San Jose Mercury News, who voted Arkansas 12th (he voted Texas A&M 6th).

How did our local voter do? The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette’s Tom Murphy voted the Razorbacks 23rd, which doesn’t seem unreasonable. But then he voted Memphis 22nd. Really, Tom? We’ll see how the Tigers do against Ole Miss this week.
