Arkansas Internet Chatter - Figuring Out the O-Line

After a mostly consistent season, what will this year's O-Line look like?

Matthew Emmons-USA TODAY Sports

After a few days of practice, it sounds like Arkansas has found four of its starting offensive linemen. Dan Skipper and Colton Jackson at the tackles, Hjalte Froholdt at guard and Frank Ragnow at center. The final spot is right guard and has seen multiple players get looks. Some more on that and some other practice tidbits can be read here.

One of the contenders for that final spot is graduate transfer Jake Raulerson. Both Bielema and O-Line coach Kurt Anderson sound high on the transfer from Texas, who is moving over from the center position. Saturday Down South talks about his transition, and makes it sound like he is the favorite for the spot right now over Zach Rogers and Jalen Merrick.

The offensive line is going to be big this year for keeping Austin Allen upright. Kurt Voigt has a good quick read on Allen and how he's dealing with his time in the spotlight. Both on and off the field Austin is going to be different than his brother. He already sounds much less reserved with media than Brandon was and is talking about how excited he is for September 3rd to get here.

ESPN released its top-25 SEC players list, and Deatrich Wise was the only Hog on it. In fact, he came in right at No. 25. Another aspect of the rankings that isn't very surprising is that no freshman came on the list. ESPN did list the 5 newcomers they think are most likely to break into that ranking and Devwah Whaley is there. With the hole opened up on the depth chart, Whaley will have plenty of opportunities to make good on that prediction.

The Razorback basketball team is currently in Spain and getting ready for its first preseason game, which is tomorrow. Before they take on Euro Colegio Casvi, there is an adjustment to a few rules to be made. Arkansas will be playing these games under international rules, which includes a shorter shot clock, longer three point line, and a different basketball. After hearing from the players, there has been an adjustment period, but nothing they aren't going to be used to by then.
